Need to define problem. I do know I have changed motor mounts on quite a few PT cruisers. Check to see if the rubber in the center is ripped or separted from the housing. Check the 'dogbone' motor mount underneath as well.
motor mounts are a common issue cruizers,if bad they will also brake the a/c lines at compressor.get a good shop to ck them b4 it costs you more $
Raise the hood and apply park brake, have a helper watch the engine, FROM THE SIDE of the vehicle, as you shift it into reverse WHILE HOLDING THE SERVICE BRAKE (foot brake) and give it a LITTLE throttle, does the engine move excessively? Now do the same in DRIVE and look for the same results! That is how I find most motor mount problems... IF manual shift trans. just use the clutch as you give it a LITTLE throttle.
The rubber piece is thining and it is the mount that you mentioned. While my husband was changing the brakes you could see the "dog bone mount" just under The right side . Well i did check the engine while it was being excellerated and the engine does not lift, shake, or tilt at all. I did notice that when i was pulling in at Work i turned in slowly from the right I did hear small craking or popping sounds not very loud. It sounded like small branches craking. SORRY 4 LACK OF CAR KNOWLEDGE. BUT I GOT TO FIND OUT SOME HOW THANK S EVERY ONE !!;-)
Possible that the stabilizer end link is failing. They usually rear their ugly head and make noise most often on turning and going over small bumps.
