Qualified **mechanic with the proper scanner** can run a functional test on guage cluster to determine the 'exact' problem and find out why light is on, they very well could be connected!... No use guessing, that's wasting time and $$$!
have the code/codes read at Autozone,it's free.then post code/codes here.as for the fuel gauge not correct,it is most likely the sending unit/float/switch.located in the fuel tank.it is part of the fuel pump module assembly, and can only be replaced as the whole unit.
Hello, This is Aaron from Grand Pointe Automotive in Grand Blanc. The Chevy Venture is very common for the fuel sending unit to fail. Like stevieray1 stated, this is part of the fuel pump module. These are so common, we stock several of them. As far as the service engine light is concerned, we can scan it for you for free and this will determine when direction to go in next. If you would like I can schedule you an appointment to scan it for you while you wait. We also have a free shuttle service that can run you home or to work if you would like to drop it off. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call anytime at 810-603-1900. Thanks and have a great day! Aaron
