I want to install a trailer hitch so is there a wiring harness somewhere
What is your question?
some people say there is a harness is this just a myth or is there one somewhere so does anybody know for sure

MAYBE bring vehicle or VIN# to dealer and check what 'options' your car had. It may be 'pre-wired' for an accessory kit to be added easily.

Etrailer.com has some excellent videos on installing trailer hitches and wiring for many makes and models, including a Traverse. I purchased mine from them. Service and instructional vehicles were excellent.

I found the 7 wire harness it's plugged into a dummy plug ( just to keep it secure ) it's located on the under carriage at the rear just to the left front of the spare tire. But you need a Chevy harness or cut & splice your own connector.
