I only had bright headlights for several years, local guy tested said the dims were not getting any electricity. I got the recall and took in for 'temp. fix'. Lights lasted about a mon, now only the dims work on passenger side, any ideas on how to solve or fix the temporary way? Hate to take back for 'temp fix' at the dealership, they tried to charge me for that at least until I got Chevy folk to call and enlighten them. In the end they did not even temp. fix them they messed them up worse!

if it's a recall, take it to another dealer.and why did they do a temp. fix?
"Headlights & Daytime Running Lights (RepairPal Expert Overview) These vehicles are being recalled because the headlamp driver module (HDM) can overheat and fail. This will cause the headlights and daytime running lights to stop working. Loss of this lighting will affect the ability of the driver to see the road and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash. The remedy for this problem is still under development and not yet available." JUST a THOUGHT - but maybe common sense will prevail--- either get them fixed (aftermarket headlamp driver module-IF that IS the cause of your specific failure) OR don't drive it at night and kill or be killed!!!....GM should reimburse you for the repair , if you have it done and documented by a licensed repair facility.
Really, how about some commom sense/compassion for we the viewers and how dare you to be so condisending on line and revealing your true character. First, I work night shift can't get ride from anyone, the city where i live my local bus city schedules are daytime service. No cab service, don't own a horse, can't fly no wings, the list goes on... Secondly, I purchased extended warranty on my 2006 Trailblazer LT (this was a demo) low miles... I started noticing a few problems right away like my whining in steering, radio whining coming from console, mirrors and seats moved while not in vehicle, stabilizer track bar light on a lot, AC shut down, my BOSE stereo had shut down and quit working... I was on the "repair problems " avenue. Replaced the BOSE stereo, I've had one headlamp replaced, had the recall switch replaced 5 times and the warranty ran out. So, I'm begging my dealership to take care of all of the problems that are being reported to them by me and with this blog that I've shown multiple times to multiple dealerships. Love my Trailblazer LT. No hate no shade to Chevrolet! I have always owned a Chevrolet vehicle. Chevrolet, just fix the problems we 2006 Chevrolet owners have on your dime and all is well. I've noticed that not a word has been mentioned from me or other owners about wanting to get rid of or sell our RIDES. We bought our vehicles during your campaign to buy AMERICAN MADE BY AMERICANS and i for one am happy with my vehicle . I'm not happy with the "glitches and idiosyncrasies" of known problems and i love my vehicle!! Again, honor our American made and built in the great USA and we'll enjoy our beloved vehicle for more years to come.
