What is your question?
I was going to hook up a remote starter so I was skinning the orange wire for the accessory and my knife touched a piece of metal. It made a spark and the check engine light came on.I bought the OBD II to check to see what code I would get and it gave me the P0340 code.Did I blow a fuse or relay? The camshaft position sensor I know where it is but I was trying to follow the wiring and it goes to the PCM under the hood right side of engine compartment according to the internet. Did I burn up the PCM or can anyone point me in another direction. I want to fix it but I would like someone with experience to tell what I can do besides taking it to the Chevrolet shop. Please help me!

clear the code, see if it comes back.the code you have don't mean go buy new sensor... you can't check it while it's unplugged.has to be plugged up and checked by piercing the wires checking with a volt meter and helper or a real scan tool, not code reader..................... OBD-II Trouble Code: P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor ... www.obd-codes.com/p0340.................................................................................................... next time you are doing anything to your car, electrical or even installing a door handle, unhook the NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FROM THE BATTERY FIRST! no telling what that did...start by checking ALL the fuses,NOT by looking at em.check em with a test light or volt meter.someone else will reply to this in a little bit.
Thank you sir I need all the help I can get.I have had this car 3.5 years and 65,000 miles. I would love to drive this car since I have retired. I have put several remote starters in my other cars but this one gave me the most trouble. Please point out anything anyone can thank of so i can appreciate this pretty blue Corvette. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
well, the first thing to do is test ALL the fuses with a test light.you can buy a cheap one for less than $10.00 and check all the fuses in less than 5 minutes! this is a must when a hot wire has shorted to ground!
Thank you Sir I cleared the code and it came back. I even cleared it a second time and it did come back again. Do I need to check the fuses under the hood or in the drivers floor board? I called a Chevrolet shop and they told me that I needed to have it towed over to their shop. The serviceman told me it would probably start at $600.00 and or whatever it would take to get it back right. But that was just a guess and he would need it at his shop to evaluate the problem. How would I check or test those black box fuses in the fuse block area? Thank You
