What is your question?
I have a 5.7 V-8 4x4 with 208000 miles. No check engine light. It started to idle rough and the exhaust started to smell like gas. It would cut of when coming to a stop but would re-start. I pulled one spark plug and it smelled of gas. I replaced the spark plugs and wires, the distributor cap was good. I changed out the engine coolant temp. sensor. Now i have a good idle but i still smell gas out the exhaust.why do I still smell gas coming out exhaust? do I have an injector or fuel regulator problem?

Check for codes ,but it sound like egr valve or passages of egg valve clogged..
Do the injectors spray have a good looking steady fan look to it or does it look like it has extra fuel with a fan or no fan just raw gas.
go to youtube and watch the three videos I have posted. type in 95 suburban idles good but smokes" or my name, glenn spruille and watch all three videos and get back with me
Black smoke from exhaust, if looking wile at idle ? Check engine light on??
No check engine light on, but i have posted three videos on youtube if you would like to look at them. type in "95 suburban idles good but smokes and you will see what it is doing....thank you
does it smell like raw fuel or excessive fuel thru eng
It smells like raw gas plus I have no check engine light. since changing the spark plugs it idles good but while driving I see smoke coming from the exhaust. I have post videos on youtube..."My 95 suburban idles good but smokes" I posted three of them(videos) I was thinking that it might be the fuel regulator going bad cause of the gas I smell at start up and a few seconds later here comes the smoke. you can type my name in glenn Spruille and watch all three videos and tell me what you think it could be.,,,It not the type of smoke you see when you have a blown intake gasket....
COULD BE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AND A FEW OTHER THINGS. AS STATED CK EGR VALVE 1ST AND CK FOR CODES EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO CK ENG LIGHT ON.IT WILL GIVE YOU A PLACE TO START IF IT HAS CODES.
High miles ,208.000
I have 1995 also with 208,000 miles on it. I was a new owner at 190,000. I smelled fuel on the passenger side of the vehicle after I shut it down. Eventually I check the timing on it and it was off the grid way above TDC. Change the timing to TDC or zero and the idol was fine but it hesitated through acceleration. Tried to idle it 4° then 6° finally at 8° everything works fine and when I shut off no fuel smell. Perhaps this may help
please go to youtube and view the three videos I have posted.....type in "95 suburban idles good but smokes and please do get back with me and tell me what you think...or you can type in my name and all three videos will pop up.....glenn spruille
