Well it's pretty simple... See that little round push button on the headlight switch.. It not only is a dome light override but if you push it 'on and off' three times ... The daytime running lights will turn off!
will that procedure work on BOSS here!! push nose 3 times, mouth won't open? and you have an owners manual?
I wouldn't try that, might backfire on ya! .. Yeah, I was going to stuff some more junk in the glove box and saw this book looking thing in there... By golly it was an owners manual !! .. It knowed a lot more about my Blazer than I did.. Heck, I thought i knew it all.... To be honest, I use the owners manual on customers vehicles a bunch of times at the shop, information in there that ain't even in Alldata! .. Can't stand it when there isn't one in the vehicle either.... Unless they are a master chief... Most 'sensible folks' wouldn't attempt to cook an octopus without some kind of instructions... Any vehicle operation or DIY auto repair should be viewed the same way!
i talk to people a lot, asking them questions about their vehicle, bragging on em kinda of.then i put the big one on em? i say,let me look at your owners manual for a minute! some say, where's it at?.some say,i don't have one. some say,i didn't need one,i threw it away when i cleaned my glove box out? YES YOU DO! they all come with one.they don't print all that book up just for no reason.lots of info in em!
People done forgot how to use a book, if it ain't on a screen of some sort.. It don't exist!
Thanks, another one of GM 's cute little secrets !
Yeah, I been working on em for over 40 years and didn't find it on my Blazer until I finally was reading the owners manual and happened upon it.. May have to push it 4 times, can't remember but that should cancel the DRL's .. Until next start up/key cycle .. OR .. you can cycle the override again to turn them back on.. Now keep in mind the law here in VA. > **wipers on-- headlights on** .. That also cancels the auto headlights feature.. Just saying... You really don't want to permanently disable any of the the general illumination features until the *Virginia State Police* say it's ok to do so and it will still pass the states annual safety inspection program procedures ! ..... For other readers... These procedures vary from state to state .. 'IF' applicable in your particular state .. Some do not have a safety inspection to begin with! .. (Got to draw a picture here)!
