Ran out if fuel now won't start even after putting gas in,

Perhaps the tank wasn't actually 'out of gas' .. Good possibility it's a failed fuel pump or ignition component that caused the engine to stall.

check the things that pushrod suggested,and don't let the gas hand get that low! fuel is what keeps the fuel pump lubricated and running cool.when the tank gets low,and the pump is not covered in fuel it works a lot harder,it gets HOT and will burn it out sooner than later..a good new fuel pump is around $400.00 if you buy it yourself and remove the old one and replace it yourself. if you have a shop do it then you are looking at over $1000.00! so,when the fuel hand gets on 1/4 tank,just kinda think of that as empty and go put some more gas in it...
