Why do I have to pump brakes to stop? How do I fix it?

Take the vehicle to a qualified auto repair shop and get the brakes fixed!!.. That can't wait until the next time you need to stop and the brakes don't work at all.. It's dangerous to even try to offer a diy solution for this type of problem!

You possibly have air trapped in the hydraulic brake system or you may possibly have frozen caliper/s. Have checked professionally and be sure you have sufficient brake fluid in master cylinder reservoir.
