What causes my gas needle to read incorrect

What is your question?

My truck has a 16 gallon tank it was almost empty I put $20 in it and it read full.

There needs to be Diagnosis and Electrical checks proformed such as diagnose for trouble codes. trouble codes first several things could cause this.
