wont come out of park it will start turn sreering wheelbrake lights work

OK I looked forever for the quick fix because I was stuck 2 hours away from home and just wanted to get me car home. I figure it out. I have a 2007 Buick Lucerne. Take the center console apart it is just held together by clips. U will see a small button on the right side in there that moves when u try to shift it and it won't come out if park. Push that button and shift it out of park and it will work. Just wanted to post this beacuse I looked forever for the quick fix and couldn't find it. Hooez this helps someone.

It has to be the shifter interlock, not sure if there is a separate fuse or not. Try turning the key not quite all the way on and see if it will come out then. That will get you going at least. Not sure if it will work in this case. That's all i got! Ps, that is the way to ask a question, good info.!!! The only thing missing is eng. size but in this case it don't matter. Sorry we rarely get much to go on.

The shift lock control feature was intended to prevent drivers from shifting out of Park with the vehicle running without the brakes applied. However, if the ignition switch is in the Accessory (ACC) position, it may be possible on some vehicles to move the shift lever out of Park WITHOUT first activating the brake. The shift lock control system is ONLY active when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ON position. Note: not all ignition switches have a accessory position. Try that first otherwise the shift interlock mechanisum will need to be checked for problem.

agree with wetry bad shift lock solenoid or the circuit has a problem

yes it is on flat ground, the steering wheel turns when key is on, brake lights work.

My 2006 Buick Lucerne would not go into gear every 3rd or 4th time I started the car. It finally got so bad I took it to the dealer and it was the gear shift cable. $275 for the part and $300 for labor but at least my car is back on the road.

Your shifter cable probably broke. $50 part and easy fix on google and youtube.
