What is your question?
Recently transmission was r&r. Now car stalls when warm as I prepare to stop for light, etc. Engine easily restarts, but then stalls at the next light. When engine is cold, it does not seem to stall. Once engine light came on, the reader said that an unexpected amount of air was causing the problem. We reset the engine light by running the RPM at 3000 for a minute or so. The light has not returned. Other sites suggest an EGR valve. All services are up-to-date, including 105K.

Inspect VERY CLOSELY the rubber intake tube for any cracks or loose clamps!!!! Now look again, i think you missed a crack in it!
EGR voltage at idle should not be higher than 1.21v. If it is inspect the egr sytem further. The idle may just need to be re-learned which is done by letting the car idle with no electrical loads on. Let the car idle until the cooling fans cycle two times. If there is an idle control system failure the car will typically code for P0505 idle control system failure.
Since I've gotten such good direction I/m following up with what's happening now. I returned the car to repair shop that did the trans repair. Took the mechanic out for a ride - problem still existed. Discussed all ideas of what could be wrong, they checked, found nothing. Eventually they checked pressures in the transmission, somehow, and found that there were not proper pressures within. A bad valve(?). Anyway a part was ordered and hopefully I'll have the car back next week.
OK we're looking. More info . . . at a stop when it begins to shudder (before stalling) if trans is placed in Neutral, engine runs smoothly. ALSO, if trans is placed into Reverse, with foot on the brake or off, engine idles smoothly. What do you think now?
The engine shifts as you change gear selection, that could shift this rubber tube and change the engine idle. It would be worse if engine mounts are failing. All i can do is guess at and suggest some common problems that i have seen, your trouble may be entirely different! A scan test of the system to look at live data may reveal the cause. Scanner, not a code reader!
Good ole Potwin again huh!
Yep, got to where i dont even look anymore, tired of seeing it!
