I have code P0700 P0740 P1568. They replaced the TCC solenoid. With the fluid exchange. Then the bad cluster or NO BUS on odometer shows up. I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 V6. I'm guessing it's a faulty wire some were. Or the CPS. Any guess on what it could be? The transmission shifts great no stalling or slipping. It's just eats up on fuel. Sometimes the check engine goes on and off when off, the gas gauge hardly moves. When it's on it wastes fuel. I have also noticed burnt oil lately. I have put 8000 mile and have changed the oil 5 times.
The transmission mechanic. No I wasn't there to see if they replaced the parts. To make along story short I bought the Jeep from a lot. The lot sales person took it to a transmission shop for it to be fixed. I got it back that same day . The transmission guy said he replaced it. I took it the following day. He said he just cleared the codes that's what on these jeeps needs to be done after a job like that. The dealer told me that it needs to be reprogrammed to factory settings. I did the disconnection of the negative cable and the harness to the pcm for 30 minutes. And it's still the same. I might just burn this bitch! Before I do what needs to be looked at or what am I overlooking? Also now that the CEL is on the fuel gauge is barely moving. I had it idling for 30 minutes and it hardly moved. Then took it on a hour drive it moved like if the CEL wasn't on. Meaning regular fuel comsumption.
Did the dealer reprogram it , or did you just 'reset' it (NOT the same as reprogramming) by the battery disconnect?
