What is your question?
No fuel pressure, pump was not running. Banged bottom of tank and pump tried to go but sounded weak kinda chugged slow then took off. So... we changed the pump and assembly. Now the new pump won't come on. We've cycled key on/off tried cranking the engine. Etc. Also the fuel gauge is pointing staight down way past empty, needle is actually hitting the edge of the cluster. We switched the fuel pump relay with a lot her one. What could cause this?

did you remove the fuel pump fuse and forget to put it back in?or is it blown?did you install the correct fuel pump module assembly?there are several different ones for your vehicle.
How can that be? There is only one way it plugs in you can't put it in wrong.
Did the new pump module come from a GM dealer... Original equipment part... Or is it aftermarket module that came with a different wire connector that had to be changed???.. Note that I've installed a truck load of these GM pumps!
Oem Delphi pump
We didn't change any connectors it all was the same and just plugged back in. Are you saying I should cut the wires loose from factory positions and rearrange them? That sounds crazy! no offense
No problem with the fuel guage before?????? .. Unplug wire connector and see if guage reads full.
Delphi/Fuel Pump Part Number: DFG0324 Fuel Pump Module Assembly, Fuel Tank Seal,( Instruction Sheet, Splice Harness), (4) Splice Connectors included with new assembly?
DFG0273 is the part number on the box
In *ANY* event here... and for whatever reason... The problem has got to be in the new pump module OR the install... if there was no problem with the fuel guage before.... Why start changing other components?.. Good luck with it!
what is the 8th digit of your VIN#?

WHOEVER YOU GOT THE PUMP FROM SOLD YOU THE WRONG PUMP.
Napa, I called and asked them about it and they swear that it is the right one "of course". I got online and according to napa website and summit racing there are two pumps for my application and either one is suppose to be "acceptable replacement" however since this one is NOT working I am thinking otherwise. I am going to pull the tank check voltage to the harness if it's hot there then it's the pump. I will post what I find.
When you get the next pump module...OR whatever... Hook it up and have helper turn key on to see if pump engages and gas gauge is working as the float is moved by hand from empty to full.. Pump will only run for a couple seconds and will not hurt a thing to test it this way... It's better than finding out after it's installed and tank is remounted! .. Be sure to watch out for any **pinched wires and then likely blown fuses**... Again, Good luck with it..
