that don't sound right..it takes less than 5 minutes to change that cabin filter.unless someone disconnected the battery for some other work that was done and it needs re-programmed.look in your owners manual,or try and reset it to that temperature.how long does that take to set to 72? i would be just so happy that the A/C works.setting a temperature ain't a whole lot of work.

'memory' is lost , maybe have someone test ALL the fuses
