Q: How do I bypass the clutch pedal position switch so I don't have to press on the on 1993 Ford Thunderbird SC

Car started fine,replaced the electric fan went to start it and I'm getting nothing.lights will come on on the dash but I turn the key and it won't even turn over.

More likelly a starter or battery problem. Trans. in 'NEUTRAL' AND PARK BRAKE 'ON' with battery fully charged, can cross fender mounted solenoid to see if starter turns, if it does not, then it is most likely the starter! Doing this will bypass everything and if the starter works then start troubleshooting other possiblities! If you need help with this get a mechanic to look at it.


After seeing a vehicle started in gear by 'another' person reaching in the window and turning the key, you won't bypass the clutch safety switch, I'll bet on it!!! I have seen what can happen. IF you find that 'safety' switch defective, replace it! Now IF you are the one and only person that is ever going to touch this car then do whatever you like.
