changed oil 6 quarts no oil on dipstick

did you put the drain plug back in? engine oil capacity app.6 Quarts with Filter change 5W30

Either wrong... maybe broken off dip stick ... or you just can't see the oil on the stick! .. Was the oil you drained out black in color to where it should have easily been seen on the stick?
