Has fuel pressure and spark. What's a good way to proceed. Unable to pull any codes, battery was disconnected.

our 2002 Taurus would not start either, my husband took the top off, I don't know what it is called, it is connected to the air filter compartment, Is is black plastic. he sprayed a very small amount of starting fluid into it toward where the carburetor would be, i tried to start it at the same time, it started right up and is doing good now.

Throttle position sensor stuck in wide open throtle position, will trigger clear flood and no gas from injectors! Unhook tps connector and try to start. Can sweep test tps with a good scanner. This is a guess but has happened before!!
