It must be someone with the Honda software to be able to program the Honda.
IMA or Engine/CVT problems? Which update are you referring to? There are MANY , some are (or may) still covered under certain warranty extensions , others are not. Give code(s) (specificDTC #s , and VIN# and I can check for you. Also , knowing what symptoms you are experiencing may help.
It is the update dealing with emissions. There is an update that is supposed to correct relay info from the ECM and o2 sensors. Also the catalytic convertor. I have replaced all these parts to now find out about this update that is supposed to fix it all. Trying to get reimbursed but since these were old issues and I am not under warranty its doubtful. My check engine light will not go off. I cannot get an inspection and therefore cannot legally drive 100 miles to the closest Honda Dealership. Just in case you may be able to help, Vin: JHMES96685S013671 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. Has thrown all 3 o2 sensor codes and all have been replaced. Also new CAT. So now P0135 code still thrown and light has not went off ever..Honda said when they checked it I needed to replace two of my O2 sensors but they had already been replaced. Why did they not tell us about this update. Grrr. Thanks for any info you can provide. Also all warrantys are out..106,000 miles
2 things , first , is your car originally for a different market(Canada maybe?), the VIN # posted is coming up invalid. Second , where the O2 sensors that you replaced , Honda or aftermarket? It would still need the update , but I've seen many come in , where the aftermarket sensors for some reason were still creating problems. Please re-check the VIN or check the door label to see if it was produced for N.A. market. Occasionally I see them come in from Canada or prior military , from overseas and they aren't covered. (also American Honda system does not 'recognize' the VIN).
Can you help me with a similar issue... My HCH 2005 rear sensors replaced by Honda 2 years ago and in the past month I got the same PO135 code for the rear sensors to be replaced, Honda verified the same and gripped with Honda not standing behind their product as the cost an arm and leg to be done by honda. Bought the Denso replacements and less than a month later, I am getting engine light on with the same replace sensor codes. Read this PCM option as a solution and a check under the hood for the . under the hood VIN J and it wasn't their. Is my HCH eligible for a PCM update? JHMES96695S000119 Any advice would help...
