Went to start it and found what seemed to be a dead battery. Checked battery and it was run down to 4.9V. When I put a jumper pack on the battery all of the dash service lights, abs, battery, oil, check engine lights come on and stay on. The secure-lock anti theft light flashes normally when the key is off and turns off when I turn the key to the start position, but the truck will not turn off and these dash lights stay on, The dash lights stay on when I dissconnect the booster pack until the battery is completly drained again. Also noted that remote transmitter will not blow the horn or flash the lights when locking it like it normally would. If you experienced this please respond with some advise.

Get that battery charged first! Then with a fully charged battery, you can diagnose if the alternator is putting out or maybe you have a battery drain.
Were you ever able to get this diagnosed? The same thing happened to my 2004 Ford Ranger, dead battery. Got it jumped, since it was a new battery I was going to get it replaced. I drove to the store, jumped out, and noticed that although I had turned the truck off, the keys were in my hands, the truck was still running. The mechanics I went to had never seen this before. They just kept pulling fuses and finally the car turned off. Didn't have the same problem again. Although since that happened, if I left radio or A/C on when truck was off, the battery was dead. Occasionally it would not start right away, but always started. I went out today, the truck would not start. Tried charging battery and it would not charge. Replaced the battery, it still would not start. The dashboard lights stay on until we disconnected the battery. . .
