With the rear wheels off the ground and on jack stands, and in park the rear wheels will rotate. wouldn't the transmission prevent this from occurring. 2005 h2

Little more info needed.... Watch both rear wheels while turning in park... Both turn in same direction, or one turns in opposite direction from the other?.. .. Will vehicle still roll down hill while in park?.. All gears and gear selection indicators (PRND) seem to be ligned up//in sync with each other while driving?.. What sort of work is being done to vehicle (why on jack stands)?
ok wheels turn in opposite direction,. no it will not roll while in park selection indicator is in correct location when driving. its on stands because i'm changing pads. it just struck me as odd that they would rotate. should the transfer case hold the rear from turning while in park. Thank You
Normal operation as when vehicle is in park with wheels on the ground...one wheel CAN'T rotate opposite of the other..so vehicle stays put... What you're seeing is spider gear rotation with driveshaft locked in park while both wheels are jacked up off the ground... When shifted out of park... Both wheels can be rotated in the same direction. .. It does seem kinda strange!
