2001 chevy blazer gets fire and gas but won't start.checked fire on plugs and spark was yellow.Nickyboy1
Check for good spark from coil wire... Post results.
Have spark all the way to spark plugs shot starting fluid in the TBody no start unhook battery cable negative for 10 minutes still no start can find the problem help
Pull coil wire from cap and check the spark to see how HOT it is..should jump a 1/2" gap, no problem!..... Put wire back on cap... Pull plug wire off and see if spark is exactly the same, jump the same distance.... If ANY difference AT ALL.. Replace cap and rotor!!!!.. See it all the time at the shop... BTW... I own one too... AFTER testing, post results again for more help if needed..
Spark is good about 1/4 inch all the way run great the day before after setting the night no start
If you can't do the testing I have suggested... Can't help!!!!! Good luck
sorry I did the test and I'm getting good fire
Got it running yet?
No It must be some sensor when cranking over I let off it it tries hit but does start
Pull spark plugs and see if they are fuel fouled (wet) engine is possibly flooded from faulty 'fuel spider'... Google it! Now..I'm taking you at your word that spark is 'blue hot' at the plugs and will jump a 1/2 inch gap... Not a sick yellow color!! Hey, I've been doing this s--t for a living, 40+ years and can tell you anything you need to know about this one... Yeah, that's right... I'm blowing my own horn!! I can play a tune also!
Your just the person I'm looking for the fire coming out of coil put sum pits in the metal bracket I use as ground I pulled a plug and it was dry and get's blue spark it tries to start as you let off the cranking with the key in the on position It did this once before and it start after a few hours wait it does sound like the coil by getting more wire at the end of cranking but is shows get fire in cranking I know it's something simple I got this car from and older couple who bought it new this think looks new it has not wanted for noting looks new less the 100,000 I did have have a key made for in but I drove it for month with no problem and there is no security line on
If plugs are dry... It ain't getting gas!... Spray a 'fuel' into intake, iF it's getting fire, it's got to backfire or run!! Hear fuel pump run when key turned on or engine cranked for a second?? ... Fuel, Spark and compression will start this engine...what are you missing?
I'm still having the problem
I have a chevy silverado 1500 4.3 v6 its getting good fire and fuel and still want crank even sprayed stater fluid in intake and still want crank backfires a little bit any info will be great
Replace distributor cap and rotor!!!!!!
Dano did you get your blazer running? I am having the exact same problem, good spark, fuel and compression, backfires out of intake when I stop cranking. I am really hoping you figured yours out because I am out of ideas. And any body's help is appreciated, it's a 97 chevy blazer that will not start. Good spark, fuel, and compression. Backfires out intake only when I stop cranking. Thanks in advance
Distributor cap wet inside or cracked internally.. Faulty rotor button.. Plug wires are not in proper firing order.. Someone has removed the distributor,, installed it incorrectly and it is now out of time....... I can't seem to make folks understand that this ignition system is capable of producing *40,000 VOLTS* !.. If the spark does not jump out blue in color and pop like a cap gun, maybe knock the hell out of ya... IT ain't right!!!! .. Replace cap & rotor!!!.. Read this page again.. Good luck to all..
The distributor has weep hole allowing moisture, later corrosion clean or replace cap&rotor , use dielectric grease on contacts
Here ya go, let's see if I can make anyone's head spin on this one.. 2000 Chevy blazer zr2, stick key in , cranks and no start. Fuel up to spider with 63lbs of pressure, got spark, Good spark but no start.. here is the kick in the nuts, I pull air intake tube off and poor a little raw fuel into the throttle body, replace intake tube, turn key and if like magic all my problems are gone. New coil, replaced fuel pump, replaced injection spider and did passlock2 bypass (issue was before that).. any ideas what the issue can be?
Believe It or Not neutral safety switch on the trans will cause them to not start even if everything else works . On my second Blazer it was the problem the both times
I just had the same problem with my blazer I changed the cap roter coil and ecm and it fired up runs better than ever
how can you help
