will a repair shop still inspect my brake and brake system if tgats all i want them todo cause i have a messed up transmission

so hopefully someone can understand what I'm trying to ask. ok so.....I need my brake system diagnosed and repaired. I can pay for that. but my transmission is going out I know that's really impoartant but can't do anything about that yet cause I don't have money for that. I don't know anything about cars and this is my first time taking a car to a repair shop and don't want to be turned away from getting break problem fix because cant fix transmission just yet only have money to fix brakes to get to work make money then can fix transmission I'm trying to be really optimistic but I'm absolutely lost

What makes this problem better or worse?
