My car kept overheating and my mechanic found a leaky gasket that I ended up replacing only to discover I had to replace two thermostats with it as it was all located in the same place/unit. Unfortunately, my car continues to overheat very rapidly. The water reserve boils and the radiator is still full of antifreeze, but my car will still go from stone cold to super hot in a matter of minutes. Any ideas or suggestions?

Since this seems to be an elusive problem, beyond the cooling fan(s) and t-stat .. 'Possible' failed water pump impeller..... Combustion leak into cooling system... Engine size is always helpful..!!
This happened to my car too and it ended up being the water pump. I got a new one and haven't had any problems with overheating since then.
