Why do my 2003 Pontiac aztek goes into neutral while driving?

What is your question?

I can be driving between 50-65 and all of a sudden the car shifts into neutral. I have to pull over, cut the car off, and restart, then it will drive normal. But for only about a half mile, then I have to pull over again. It "whines" because of the rpms when it shifts out of gear.

How long has your 2003 Pontiac Aztek had this problem?

A month. I'm glad I got a second car.
