There is an accelerator pedal position sensor inside the vehicle .. There is an 'integrated' throttle position sensor on the throttle body - which is attached to the intake plenum .. This throttle control system must be tested using the proper scan tool to determine where the fault actually is .. Otherwise it's no way to know which component is failing or if it a wiring problem .. Scanner can test the throttle function to aid diagnosis. .. Due to the difficulty is accessing these components it is not recommended for the DIYer to attempt replacement so I strongly suggest having local auto repair shop take care of this for you.
