I drive less than 2000 miles a year, most trips 10 miles or less. When should I have the fuel injectors cleaned?

Hello, Fuel injector cleaning is a remediation procedure when there is insufficient flow through the injectors. However, the owners manual for your vehicle may prescribe fuel injector cleaning, like Hyundai, at regular intervals. If it is not specified in the owners manual or on a manufacturer service bulletin, or done as a solution to a driveability issue, it is not necessary. In your circumstance, you would follow the maintenance schedule by months/years instead of mileage to ensure the vehicle is serviced on time.
Use a good quality gas, MAYBE alternate every third fill-up with premium (93octane, slightly more detergents, if I’m not mistaken), and you should not need to worry about wasting money on an unnecessary service for that vehicle. With that kind of driving, I would guess you fill up maybe 6 times a year, I wouldn’t worry about the fuel ‘going bad’.
