What kind of starter do I need for car? Options are 3.0 6 cyl DOHC or 3.0 6 cyl OHC?
What makes this problem better or worse?

Below is a Google imagines link - it pictures the DOHC (Duratec) engine: http://gtcarlot.com/data/Ford/Taurus/2003/12985138/Engine-60535672.html Look at the engine - IF it looks like the one pictured - you know it is DOHC. IF it doesn't look like the one pictured - - well you should be able to figure it out at that point!
One more detail - the 3.0 Vulcan (the other option) is an *over head valve* (pushrod) engine - not over head cam and looks entirely different than the DOHC Duratec.
3.0 Duratec OHV - is the engine type you’ll need to convey when ordering parts. U’re welcome.
Don’t worry - it is certainly enough difference between the two you’ll be able to see which engine is there..
