What is the correct tire pressure that I should have in maintaing my car

This is correct. Also if no owners manual available , check for sticker on door jam (usually drivers) for recommended inflation and proper tire size. To just inflate it to the tires "max pressure" will most likely lead to harsh ride and drivability complaints.Tire sizes and inflation pressures are chosen by the car designers/engineers for comfort , safetey , noise etc..
