What is C1201?

C1201 Brake control / Dynamic control system : Vehicle stability control system This code is for the ABS / Dynamic control system, when you set this code it is because you have a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) that is stored, This is the "P" code which is for the powertrain system. The reason for the code is whenever the CK ENG LT is set the ABS system is disabled, this is for safety, the reason the vehicle is no longer at manufacture specifications, If you do not have a CK ENG LT clear the ABS / Dynamic code .

So the dealer would have to address this?

try unhooking the negative battery cable for 20 minutes,then reconnect it,see what happens.that resets everything,then you will have to do what's called a drive cycle,50-100 miles normal driving,before trying to get inspected so all monitors will SET TO READY!

Thank you. I changed the battery the night before the inspection. It may be that I have not driven it enough.
