My car started jumping gears it felt like about a week ago and the light would come on and go immediately off. Today while driving down the interstate the gears started jumping again and then the light started flashing repeatedly and I could only go 20 mph with the gas pedal all the way down (in the warning lane at this point) luckily got off the interstate but turned off car and waited 30 seconds and turned car back on and it ran fine. On the way back home, just to see what happens, gunned the pedal and the car kept jerking and left off the pedal and then started going back to normal. What would cause this?

Common problem.... The Throttle Body on these engines are giving problems!.. You need to have a professional scan test so the Throttle Body to Accelerator Pedal correlation can be checked via the scanners live data screen. .. I think this is considered for a safety recall by Chrysler Corp.. You can call a dealer to see if it's anything they will do!
This exact same thing happened to me. I actually had to get some sensors replaced. It ran about $500 with the replacement of the sensors and new spark plugs.
