Waterpump is leaking after thermostat change. Possible bad pump or something esle?

Changed water pump out about 3 months ago. First one leaked ,so returned and replaced. No problem until I changed thermostat out. Now pump leaking at pressure/freeze plug on lower side of pump. Possible bad pump or some other problem?

If it's leaking from the water pump for sure, I'd say you have a cheap water pump on your hands. Sometimes the auto parts specials are poorly rebuilt. The changing of the t-stat alone would not cause the water pump to leak. Alex

WHICH ENGINE?
Well *IF* this is the 4.6L engine (?) ... Very closely inspect for leak at FRONT of intake manifold - right behind the alternator.
