hearing rough acceleration especially when engine cold, when warms up sounds better, no engine light comes on, feels like RPM struggling when giving gas, thinking plugs or coils might be dirty, never had fuel filter changed

In addition to Pushrod's suggestions, certainly factory required maintenance should be brought up to date, as regardless of whether or not it affects your concern positively, it needs to be performed anyway. Might as well start with what is needed before chasing a concern with a diagnostic test.
