What is your question?
This stalling problem has been happening allot. I have parked the car to figure out why. I had an oil change last week and had it inspected. I was told the left catalytic convertor was leaking and would need replacing soon. I have been looking at parts online and found 2. One does not have an oxygen sensor port, this convertor would match my needs if I don't need the oxygen sensor port according to the autoparts store online. I would also have to buy the gaskets at $10 each. I just don't know if this car needs an oxygen sensor or not. The parts would be less than $200. The second part has everything and is $262 for the part. My mechanic said he would replace the part for a shop hour at $99 plus tax. Does the symptom of stalling out, going a short distance and stalling out again...sound like a catalytic convertor issue or something else? Thank you, Joy from Florida

Something else!!!!... When the engine stalls is when testing has got to be done to find the problem!... A professional scanner with live data to monitor the crank signal and cranking rpm sure would help in this case!!
My son drives the car. He said he would be driving and the enine would kick twice and it would begin to lose speed no matter how much gas he gave it. The RPMs would rise accordingly, but it would eventually just stall out. After a 10 inute wait he would try cranking it a few times and it would turn on just fine, but the engine itself wouldn't cut on. He had a half of tank of gas. He said when it stalled, it lost power steering and braking. I am just trying to figure out how expensive of a repair bill I am looking at. I know my shop charges $90 an hour labor. It is the parts on this old girl that worry me. She is in excellent physical shape, but old. I have to find parts myself to get a better deal on them.
