Compressor leaking from shaft , or at where the lines connect? Either poor quality part(s) or poor/faulty (not necessarily on purpose) installation. Why would this not have been under warranty(3/36 minimum Honda)? Out by time? What was the original CAUSE of failure?
Element has rebuilt title (rearend collision). Car sat in bullpen for months until insurance settlement. Bought car knowing AC wasnt working. Compressors are Denso ,repairs from reputable (small town ) shop. Mechanic says both leaking refridgerant from all seals. The shop (and I) have been trying to figure out if there is something else causing this before sticking another compressor in . Just trying to get some other input on this problem. Thanks
Okay , when the compressors where initially installed , the system was vacuumed down and recharged - then the A/C would work properly until it lost enough R-134 to stop? And when they charged it they put fluorescent dye in with the oil , so they could verify where it was leaking? AND it's leaking AT the lines they hooked up(existing already on Element) AND ALSO from the shaft seal?? KEY first answer - did the system work properly , even if only for 20 minutes , after the initial install?
both times the systems worked for almost 2 weeks before the leaks then it was warm air blowing . They checked out the system initially replaced the dryer and other system parts. the second time they replaced compressor they kept the car for a couple of days and drove it . We then got the car and it was fine for almost 2 weeks.
