Should the transmission whine when in gear.
What is your question?
The s80 is an AWD with a wonderful V8 model. When I put the transmission into gear, the trans whines. I have a drive train warranty from the seller that is still in force. I would like to be somewhat informed about the trans before I go back to the dealer. I've had other Volvos in the distant past that had very quiet transmissions. Whacha think?
What makes this problem better or worse?
No change in the whine based on temperature. It does vary with engine RPM.
How long has your 2007 Volvo S80 had this problem?
Since purchased a year ago. Covid19 has delayed looking into the issue.
