key stops at 1st turn and ignition seems locked , will nt let me complete start

Thank you for your reply, but I tried that and it still did not work. I finally had it towed to Volvo dealer and was told it is the cylinder.

common problem on that car.a little powder graphite and removing the top and bottom covers to inspect it would have fixed it.if it's at the DEALER,probably will have to order from Sweden!
