What is your question?
I have a 2007 Volvo s40, out of no where I received a message saying slow down or shift up, with check engine light flashing, I have already changed the spark plugs but not the coils, still getting the message, there aren't any codes reading,
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing
How long has your 2007 Volvo S40 had this problem?
2 weeks
IF engine rpms are increasing but vehicle speed is not - suspect clutch slippage. There will be no related diagnostic trouble codes.. I am assuming you are familiar with how a manual shift transmission operates and are shifting gears appropriately as driving conditions warrant (?)
Hey Pushrod, RPMS are fine and it is shifting fine, it's an automatic, I have yet to see RPMS SPIKE or act crazy, it just idles really bad with the message and at a complete stop
This is a rather unique occurrence for an automatic transmission equipped vehicle. *Hands-on* testing using the appropriate scan tool will be required to determine failure. Good luck with it!
Pushrod so a couple of weeks ago I just got fed up and went to autozone hooked up an obdII scanner read the codes and their was an issue with the fuel injector pressure sensor which was also reading voltage trouble in #2 cylinder, so I changed that $40, still had the message, further research suggested MAF, so I found one at our pick n pull here in San Antonio replaced that $15, still had the same issue rough idle and message appearing so go back to pick n pull got a coil for $22 from there and I'll be damn all is good now.
What-ever it takes - glad you got it fixed ... Sometimes ya gotta think outside the box. Especially when the weird s - - t happens!
