need help to close volvo 2007 c70 glove box stuck open?

The tumbler in the glove box comes out with the key. The engagement parts (that move in when you pull the handle, and release back out when you let go) don't seem to me moving out all the way. I was looking for direction to remove the glove door, then be able to get into the mechanism to see if it can be unstuck.L ooks like real issue is that it is acting like the handle is up, which pulls in the side bars and allows it to open. Releasing the handle should allow them to spring back out. They are stuck in the in position, even with the handle released.
Is there anyway to remove the latch/lock mechanism without having to remove the whole glove box ? Glad to send pictures if needed.

Wish we had a way to have pictures sent. This forum doesn't get quite that detailed. You're on the right track, but my feeling is that you're probably stuck having to pull it apart further. I can't say for sure, and probably not many people could, because it's kind of a really specific area that many wouldn't have experience directly with. However, I would recommend seeking local guidance from a technician familiar with Volvo who could try and come up with a battle plan to repair your concern.
