Why wont my car start and what could be the cause of my steering locking up.

This is the first time this has happend. I replaced the battery 4 months ago, i replaced the spark plugs 2 months ago as well as my fuel pump. My car has oil and power steering fluid. Its been using coolant like crazy though. I was turning and all of a sudden i wasnt able to steer. I made it into a parking lot and my car started smoking. After it stopped i tried to start it and my car would turn over but it will not start.
