What is your question?
My TDI Jetta stopped running the same week as the scandal broke news. I was quoted $6000 in repairs after being charged a $900 diagnostic fee by my mechanic. i still owed $8000 on the car and decided to wait out the scandal and not spend thousands of dollars on repairs on a vw that if nothing else just lost a ton of value. Finally, the long awaited buyback claims are in motion but one of the qualifying rules is it needed to be running as of July 28th(ish) 2016. What do I do? This car has been a nightmare for me. I got scammed just like everyone else. How will they know if it had been running? Is there a way for them to tell? Is there a quick fix that can get it running just enough to make it to the dealership? I do not want to spend another dime on this piece. The buyback doesn't even cover the loss I've already accrued by owning this car. Thank you for reading. Help!!

What and when did the shop/mechanic have it and how did it get there?
I have the same problem with my 2013 Jetta. I checked and VW because of the failure of the HPFP has extended the warranty's for all 2009 thru 2012 Jetta TDIs. So call your dealer and see if you vin number and mileage qualify. If so they fix it on their nickel and you can then turn it in. For me that was not an option and I have 2013 with same problem therefore not covered. Trying to figure out to get it to run just enough to get it into the dealer for buy back and be done with it. Any ideas how to get car to run enough, requirement is that you need to drive it in. I also found out they want to go out and start the car to verify mileage as part of the buy back. That means car must start reliably twice, so that is the problem with my car. Anybody got some ideas? Thanks in advance. John
I had it towed there in July 2015. It took him a little over a week and literally the same day he called with the diagnostic and $6000 price tag was the day the scandal was announced to the public. So I towed it back home and it's been sitting there ever since.
