What is your question?
I had my motor mounts replaced a few weeks ago and then last weekend my car started making noise under the hood. My mechanic said I need to replace the timing chain. I was wondering if the motor mount replacement and the timing chain failure are related.

Not typically. Chain is inside engine-- Mounts are ....outside...... How many miles on it? IF mounts were bad enough that the engine was vibrating and causing noise , possibly the chain noise was being covered by that?? OR pardon the pun , but bad 'timing' on the noticing the noise?
"the noise in the engine was the same as it was prior to the motor mounts being replaced" They are 2 entirely different problems , however , I would ask for a WRITTEN guarantee for the 'noise' diagnosis , make sure ALL needed components are replaced while it's apart!
There is 115,000 miles on the car. After I got the motor mounts redone and the noise in the engine was the same as it was prior to the motor mounts being replaced. I replaced the motor mounts as a preventative measure. They hadn't failed, but the mechanic said it was time to have them replaced.
