Have 2010 TDI golf.Llive in Fairfax county virginia.Can't pass emission test. Dealer says I have to drive it for 2 to 3 hours to heat engine. I've done this 3 times and still can't pass. What do I have to do. I've put now 3+hundred miles,gas and time trying to heat engine up. What can I do.

My apologies, but we can not answer your question without performing a diagnostic test.
PLEASE read carefully... Did the station actually perform the emissions test and your car failed , or did they give you a 'rejection from testing' form , because the 'readiness monitors' were not 'set'?? BIG difference! The car is OBDII so there is no need for it to be 'warmed up' for the test in No. Va. , we simply plug in the OBDII connector when performing the test (I am an emissions inspector since 1999-Loudon county).
