Turns over twice then cuts out,then lights come back on but wont start

Battery is brand new (just bought 2 weeks ago)..car started fine on sat and then on weds battery was dead. put cables on and it juiced right up but wouldn't continue turning over to the point of starting..

poss alternator is bad or you have an electrical draw.start by having charging system ck'd out

ok thank you..thought it may be the starter solenoid but it's turning over..heard a sound coming from the dash area while car was off like a whirring noise as if something is draining the battery..it was dead again the following day
