Smoke started coming out of my a/c vents and now the a/c isn't working.

The smoke was white and I smelt a burning smell. When I lifted the hood there was a lot of smoke and something wet in that area. Now the a/c won't get cold and is blowing hot air. I also noticed that the wheels in front of my engine (maybe the fan belt) is no longer spinning.
