What is your question?
My mechanic says it is not the bulbs. It is somewhere in the harness. Replacing the whole assembly for both is 1000.00 There has to be a less expensive way to deal with poor design. Any suggestions?

Need to find a shop that will find the broken wire in the system. Time consuming job.
May be way off base here but have all the fuses been tested with headlights on? V/W famous for having a dedicated fuse for 'each' light! ... Just saying...
Any reputable shop/technician can do an electrical trace and repair (probably 200.00 to 275.00) depending on how hard it is to find , assuming there is a broken wire (doubtful-unless collision damage) as all the lights are powered by different wires.
