Recently the car (bought used) wont start occasionally, all dash icons light up

radio panel shows SAFE or 1000. Car will start with a jump and be OK for a week or 2 then it happens again. Battery is losing juice according to the tester. Was allegedly changed in 2011. Time for a new battery or what? Once it's jumped, it's fine, I just have to reset the clock, but trip milage indicator goes back to zero. I've only had the car for 6 months, so I'm really hoping it's nother serious.
