airbags, module and sensors replaced, dealer can't get light off

hello, truck in minor rearend accident. Side airbags deployed. New airbags, module and 4 door sensors replaced and dealer can't reset light. Now say wiring harness shows bad reading and needs replaced $1300 for part. I feel they are chasing their tail and not competent and just replacing everything. pls advise. Frank

ONLY way to determine if there is a problem in the harness is to replace KNOWN failed(or deployed , as in your case) components and re-test. Quite likely scenario , and I wouldn't want to be in either one of your positions(yours or shops!). Ask the shop for ability to CONFIRM and guarantee(within reason, I say , Not knowing the actual extent of damage) the harness , as actual repair to turn light off. Insurance not involved I guess? Is it to late?

I agree, the only reason I see in keeping the vehicle at that dealer is pinning them down with the harness replacement as the key to solving the issue. Meeting with them today, to discuss. Thank you for your advice.
