Mechanics claim rodents nested in the cam belt drive system and that had jammed the gearing and caused the entire electric system to shut down to prevent disaster in the entire drive train. Anybody ever heard that one before? It had been parked in a tool/parking barn unstarted for about 4 weeks. Previously, a new cam belt, water pump kit and attendant parts had been installed and driven for several week before parking. Then the engine failed to start on first engagement of the starter gear with the flywheel.

I find that scenario very hard to believe! ... While mice can certainly get into some very small openings to make their nest - getting into a *property sealed* timing component housing would be magical indeed.. I've been doing automobile repair for a VERY LONG TIME - I have never witnessed such an event.
‘IF’ mice (the smallest of rodents) actually did get into the timing belt ‘circuit’ and caused the belt to to jump time - it simply was not reassembled property when the prior work was done - period!
