What is your question?
I just bought a 1997 Toyota Tercel with approximately 110,000 miles on it. On a short test drive it performed well. After signing the papers and driving it home, the vehicle began to "buck" when cruising at 55/60 on the Interstate. It wasn't when accelerating, just when cruising. I took it back to the shop that sold it to me, and they found an ignition coil that needed replaced. They replaced it, and it performed a bit better overall, but it still bucks at 55/60 when cruising. Any idea as to what may be the problem?

check the spark plugs.they are probably worn very bad.2 of them are under the 2 coils, and 2 under the wires that come off of the coils.do one at a time, don't cross wires.be very carefull when removing the plugs, cause they probably been in there a long time. DO NOT STRIP,HEAD IS ALUMINUM!if you have never done this, get someone who has.i just did this on same car, very hard to remove.but pb blaster is your best friend.plugs were shot, very bad.if the plug tube wells have oil in them, get the oil out,and replace the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals, and wires.if the plugs are bad, replace with NGK,part #3967,or NGK,part #7090.do not re-gap.if you replace, get a 12 inch piece of 3/8 fuel line, put the plug in one end,and start by hand, screw in untill snug, then tighten to crush washer.DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
According to the Carfax records, the regular Toyota maintenance schedule has been followed by a local dealership. If the plugs haven't been replaced, I'd be surprised. I'm taking it to the same local dealership shop on Wednesday. Hopefully with all the service records at their disposal, they'll be able to diagnose the problem.
ok.i was just letting you know what i found on this one.the plugs were not changed in over 100,000 miles.i replaced them, the wires, the 2 coils, pcv valve, air filter.it's a good car.let me know what you find out.
